This morning I thought to share how do I keep going in the face of such opposition from people like Mrs Big Deal (one of the team managers) who I had an altercation with yesterday.
Well it is tough!
Last night as I went on my evening training run along and in the canal at times for some water-resistance training....well I was even considering if should take some steroids to enhance my performance.
But where would the honour be in that?
A few moments of glory on the podium...I can just see it now in my minds eye ....the crowds cheering ...Charlese Teran (US pronunciation) putting the gold medal around my neck and then carrying me on her shoulders round the stadium for a victory lap ....singing the SA anthem 'Uit die blou van onse hemel...Out the blue of all of our heavens...' You get the picture.
But then the shame! Oh the shame of exposure as lab assistants pass out when looking at my dope tests results. You see, perhaps I would need quite high doses to get there.
But then, as I was feeling at my lowest, World Record holder Usain Bolt swam past (he also uses the same canal on a Wednesday) and asked if I was okay. So I started to tell him....
After about half hour we were both freezing, the canals can be really cold at night.
It was then that he put his hands on my shoulders and said, 'Hey Mon! Please would you just shut the *&^% up, I am trying to train here!'
It was so great chatting to him. I cannot believe it. Little ol' me and fastest man in the world ...like brother warriors. Usain Bolt spoke to me!
I am so inspired and now will continue on my mission and not take any performance enhancing steroids.
I can and must do this on my own!
